Chateau D’agassac 2008

Interesting Cru Bourgeois.

I googled the composition of the cuvée as the wine didn’t taste like the typical Cru Bourgeois.

Usually, on the left bank you’ll find blends that have more Cabernet Sauvignon than Merlot, but in this case, it’s a 50% Merlot and 47 % CS + 3 % CS.

So instead of stronger, younger tannins and a focus on elegance, this Cru Bourgeois was Way more powerful on the palate.

It didn’t feel like a new world wine and also not like a right bank wine.

The wine remains yet very young and somewhat closed, even if accessible due to the higher amount of Merlot.

I would still wait as the wine hasn’t developed much complexity yet and is just beginning to open up.
