Even if we’re facing #Corona there is no reason we should drink bad wine.
Today I opened the #terradimonteverro2015 and this wine is absolutely awesome!
The bouquet shows directly after you open the bottle red cherries and raspberries, but will darken with about 2 H of decant into cassis and plums. These are followed by spice, graphite and some slight toast.
The palate shows highly balanced and somewhat juicy, but will still be caught up by the young tannin after a while. The acidity is fresh and itself a overwhelmed by the berries.
Long and hot finish.
Points: 92+/100
Drink: now (3 H decant) – better 2024 – 2032.
That’s a quite fresh and remarkable super Tuscan.
While you’d usually pay a lot for a decent #supertucan, the Monteverro shows a high value.
It has a slight modern touch, but combines elegance, accessibility, complexity and balance perfectly.
For about 35 € (depending on the source) you’ll get a full, pure and authentic experience of what a Super Tuscan is.
I have always been impressed by this vinery and the 2015 is still young but shows a lot of potential for further cellaring.
I will need more of these!
