Scalunera Etna rosso 2013

The Bouquet shows black Olives, earth, some red fruits and slight toast.

On the palate, the wine is fine, elegant and has a mineral acidity, which is rounded up with some cream on the edges.

Long finish

Conclusion:

A very fine, clean and structured Etna Rosso. This isn’t the case for every wine from that region. They are usually more rustic, but this one stands out with it’s finesse.

This could be a good alternative to a Nebbiolo or Pinot noir. Or see it as a mix of both.

I’m amazed!
