Bouquet shows highly complex. First you’ll notice sweet and green apples, then buttery popcorn as well as hay, that has been soaked with honey. Some peaches, white blossoms and at the very end, very, very slight vegetal and mineral.

On the palate of medium to high concentration, creamy, round and extrem harmonious. Great play of acidity and sweetness, great structure and somewhat sparkling at the end.

Medium to long finish, with vanilla and again a switch between sweet fruits and acidity, that is consistent with the palate.

Conclusion:

Damn, I have really fallen in love with Endrizzi!

This wine wasn’t easy to identify… is it a Sauvignon Blanc? Is it a Chardonnay? I gave up and used the good old google to find out:

it’s a special cuvée made out of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Bianco. Usually I think that “less is more”, but for this special case, I changed my mind. How the hell to you get so many different grapes to harmonise so well together? I might never know!

But this is why I looked like a real idiot, as I was trying to figure out “what the hell is going on” (Trump, I don’t like him, but at least I know how he feels ever day now) the first time I smelled on it.

This is “the catch” of the month for me, when it comes to original and great white wine!

I consider you have only one choice: buy! And let me know if you enjoyed it (you will), this is a real diamond!

(DE) Masetto Bianco 2014 – Endrizzi (Trentino)

Bouquet zeigt sich sehr komplex. Zunächst kommen süße und grüne Äpfel durch, danach cremiges Popcorn, in Honig getränktes und getrocknetes Heu, ein wenig Pfirsich und weiße Blüten. Zum Schluss, ganz, ganz dezent vegetabil und mineralisch.

Am Gaumen von mittlerer bis hoher Konzentration, cremig, rund und extrem harmonisch. Bemerkenswertes Säurespiel, sehr gute Struktur und sehr leicht spritzig zum Schluss.

Mittlerer bis langer Abgang, mit etwas Vanille und Fortführung des Säurespiels vom Gaumen.

Fazit:

Okay, jetzt bin ich endgültig in Endrizzi verliebt! Dieser Wein hat mir zunächst Kopfzerbrechen bereitet:

Ist das Sauvignon Blanc ? Ist das Chardonnay?! Nein! es ist eine sehr spezielle Cuvée aus Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling und Pinot Bianco. Eigentlich bin ich der Meinung, dass meistens “weniger mehr ist”, aber wie man es schafft, so viele Rebsorten zu verwenden und anschließend einen so ausgeglichenen und vielschichtigen Wein zu erzeugen, wird mir wohl für immer ein Rätsel bleiben.

Von daher auch dieses etwas wilde Bouquet und mein “WTF” Gesichtsausdruck, als ich das erste Mal an dieser Perle schnuppern durfte.

Eine klare Empfehlung, für fast Jeden, denn dieser Wein ist wirklich ausgesprochen originell und schafft es, trotz der Variation an Rebsorten sehr stimmig zu bleiben.
