Bouquet zeigt eine gute Intensität, mittlere Komplexität und ist sehr dunkelbeerig und sehr mineralisch. Blaubeere, Graphite, Erde und Vanille.

Am Gaumen von mittlerer Dichte, gut eingebundene Tannine. Hier zeigen sich allerdings eher rote Beeren. Die mittlere Säure ist noch stabil, lässt aber vermuten, dass die Struktur nicht mehr lange standhält.

Der Abgang ist von mittlerer Länge und rauchig. Etwas adstringent zum Schluss.

Prognose: ist sehr knapp am Höhepunkt vorbei. Wer noch Flaschen auf Lager hat, der sollte sie demnächst trinken.

Wine Juggler Fazit: wieder ein guter Wein von comte de Thun. Er erreicht nicht die Qualität des 2004er, allerdings hat sich ein guter Wein aus dem JG entwickelt, der in deutlich besserer Form ist, als der Tarabelle 2000 (Syrah). Mir persönlich hat er gut gefallen, denn er ist elegant und harmonisch.

Wer wird diesen Wein lieben: Ein solider Merlot aus der Region. Ich kann ihn empfehlen, allerdings würde ich doch eher zum 2004er zurückgreifen. Dieser hier ist nicht ganz so dicht, dafür aber sehr klassisch und eher mit einem 2007er aus BDX zu vergleichen.

ENGLISH NOTE

Bouquet shows medium ( + ) density , good complexity and much of dark berries and minerality. Blueberry, graphite, earth and vanilla.

On the palate of medium density with well integrated tannins. Despite the bouquet shows more dark berries, on the palate they taste more like red berries. The medium acidity shows a good structure, although, you can see that it won’t hold its balance for ever.

The finish is of medium length and smoked. A little bit astringent at the end.

Drink: best until 2014, but is still in a very good shape.

Forecast: nothing better will happen here. If you got some bottle in your cellar, drink them ASAP.

Wine Juggler conclusion: Again a good wine from Comte de Thun. It doesn’t reach the quality of the 2004, but a good wine has developed that is in a much better shape than the 2000 La Tarabelle (Syrah). I personally liked it, it’s very elegant and classic.

Who will like this wine: A steady Merlot from that region. I can recommend, but I would rather buy the 2004 or 2001 as they are better. For lovers of 2007 BDX wines, this might be a catch.
